Delete your MindXP account
MindXP — brain training by Matthew Watson. This page explains how to permanently delete your account and everything stored with it.
The fastest way is inside the app: Profile → Account → Privacy & Account → Delete Account. You will be asked to type DELETE to confirm. Deletion happens immediately.
If you no longer have the app
You do not need to reinstall MindXP. Email coincatcher14@gmail.com from the address you signed up with, with the subject “MindXP account deletion request”.
Sending it from the address on the account is what lets us confirm it is yours. If you signed in with Apple and used Hide My Email, send it from the private relay address Apple gave you — that is the address MindXP has. We will confirm by reply, normally within two business days, and complete the deletion within 30 days of confirming.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes, from our servers:
- your account and sign-in identity, including any connected Apple or Google sign-in
- your email address and display name
- your profile, preferences and goals
- your workout history, exercise attempts and session records
- your skill ratings, mastery states and mental score snapshots
- your personal records, streaks, training days and daily challenge results
- your mistake bank
- your custom workouts and training programme progress
- your league and competition records
- your Compete player profile, rating and league standing, the matches you played and the answers you gave in them, your leaderboard and XP totals, and any players you had blocked
- your subscription entitlement records held by MindXP
This is not an archive or a “deleted” flag. The rows are removed. It cannot be undone, and signing up again later starts from nothing.
What is kept, and why
Reports somebody made about you. If another player reported your profile in Compete, that report is kept after your account is deleted — but the identifier pointing at you is removed, so what remains records that a report was made and why, and no longer says it was about you. A report that could be erased by deleting the account it was about would not be much of a safety mechanism. Reports you made about other people are deleted with your account.
Pronunciation audio. When MindXP generates the audio for a word or phrase, that recording is stored once and shared by every learner who studies it. It is dictionary content — a spoken word — and it contains nothing about you. The recording is kept so other learners do not lose it, and the record of who requested it is severed from your account at deletion, so nothing links it back to you.
Payment records. MindXP never receives or stores your payment details. Purchases are made with Apple or Google, and their own records of a transaction are theirs — we cannot delete them, and both are required to keep them for tax and accounting purposes. See Apple’s privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy.
Anything on your own device. Deleting your account removes what is on our servers. Training data cached on a phone you still have is removed by deleting the app, or from Profile → Account → Erase local data.
Deleting some of your data without deleting your account
You do not have to choose between keeping everything and losing everything.
- Your training history, in the app. Profile → Account → Erase local data clears the training data held on that device and leaves your account intact.
- Your Compete display name. Change or clear it at any time from the Compete tab. It is the only thing other players can see.
- Anything else, by email. Write to coincatcher14@gmail.com from the address on the account and say what you want removed — your Compete record, your workout history, your saved mistakes, or any other category on this page. We will confirm by reply and complete it within 30 days, and your account keeps working throughout. This is also how to make a request under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or the CCPA.
Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription
Please read this before you delete. A MindXP subscription is billed by Apple or by Google, not by us, and only they can cancel it. Deleting your MindXP account does not stop the billing, and we cannot stop it for you. If you want to stop paying, cancel the subscription first, then delete the account.
- iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → MindXP → Cancel Subscription. Or open apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
- Android: Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → MindXP → Cancel. Or open play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. The app says the same thing on the deletion screen before it deletes anything.
